1. How long in advance should I place my order?

If you are ordering a wedding dress, it's advisable to place your order a minimum of 6 weeks before the actual day you need to wear the dress; and a minimum of 5 weeks for wedding party dress and special occasion dress.

The time needed might seem longer than you you're used to with other online sellers. This is because we make dresses to order from scratch, so we take longer to prepare it before it gets shipped out. The tailoring period for wedding dresses is 15-20 days and for special occasion dresses and wedding party dresses it takes 12-15 days. The shipping time is 7-15 business days (exact shipping times depend on the carrier and shipping method chosen at Checkout).

We recommend you to allow plenty of time for the tailoring and shipping periods, plus additional time in case you would like to make any necessary alterations after trying it on.

2. Can I return or cancel my order if I change my mind?

All our dresses - even standard size dresses - are made to order for each customer. This means the cancellation and return policy is stricter than that of other items. We suggest you think carefully before placing an order to avoid any disappointment. Please refer to our Return and Cancelation Policy for more information.

3. Will I be able to alter my dress if I receive it and it doesn't fit exactly right?

Yes. We always leave a few inches in the seams so that if you want to modify the dress slightly, your local tailor can easily make alterations as needed. Dresses generally have a margin of 1 inch on either side of a seam. Flower detailing, beading or belts/ribbons may limit ability to let a dress out.

4. Can I order the dress in a different style/fabric/length?

Unfortunately we are unable to modify the style, length or material, as each dress is carefully tailored to match exactly what you see in the photos. If you haven't found exactly what you're looking for yet, the "Narrow by" search function on the left-hand side of each dress category's main page can help you find the perfect combination.

5. Can you customize the size of my dress?

Absolutely - if our standard sizes don't work for you, we can make custom-sized dress for a small extra charge. Custom sizing costs $29.99 for all dresses priced $200 and under, and $39.99 for all dresses priced over $200. Just check the box for "Custom size" to the right of the dress's drop-down size menu and tell us your measurements in inches. Please be sure to read our Measuring Guide to obtain accurate measurements.

6. How do I make sure I'm ordering the right size?

After you decided on your ideal dress, the most important thing is to get the right size. We strongly recommend you to check the actual measurements in our size chart and compare them to your own measurements. You can find our Size Charts here. If you are not sure how to take your own measurements, please refer to our Measuring Guide page.

If your size fluctuates or you want to modify the dress slightly, we always leave a few inches in the seams so that your local tailor can easily make alterations as needed.

7. How do you measure length for mini, knee-length and tea-length skirts if you only collect a hollow to the floor measurement?

We use the hollow-to-floor measurement to determine where the knee is and then cut the correct length according to the dress design.

8. Will my dress exactly match the color I see on your website?

Our photos are all taken by professional photographers trying to present to you an image closest to the item's natural color. However, due to different computer monitor's display settings, there is a slight possibility that the actual dress's color might look different from what you see on your computer monitor.

9. What kind of fabric do you use on the dresses?

Each dress is made of one or a combination of the following fabrics:

  • Chiffon: delicate, sheer, and transparent material made from silk or rayon; its soft finish is often layered because of its transparency, making it popular for overskirts, sheer sleeves, and wraps
  • Organza: crisp and sheer like chiffon, but with a stiffer texture reminiscent of tulle but more flowing; popular for skirts, sleeves, backs, and overlays
  • Satin: heavy and smooth with a high sheen on the front; very commonly used for bridal gowns
  • Silk-Like Satin: smooth, silky satin with a glossy front and matte back
  • Matte Satin: soft, subtle shine and a smooth surface; similar to silk-like satin but less prone to wrinkles
  • Taffeta: a crisp, smooth high-end fabric with a slight rib
  • Tulle: netting made of silk, nylon, or rayon that is used primarily for skirts and veils (think ballerina tutus)

Please refer to our Color Charts page, our color charts and photos should give you a very good idea what the fabric will look like under different colors.

10. What kind of zipper will my dress have?

The zipper will be carefully chosen to match the overall dress design. There are 2 types of zippers, invisible and visible. Invisible zippers are hidden inside a seam and use a discrete pull tab in order to blend in with the lines of the dress. Visible zippers are wider but hidden behind a tab of fabric. They are reinforced at the top with a metal hook that clasps through either a metal or fabric ring. See here for more information.
